Time to reflect on your last conversation:
- What have your reflections been on your last meeting? (e.g. Did the discussion with the other person spark any new ideas or perspectives for you? Was there something you noticed about yourself?.)
- Did you commit to doing anything after your last conversation? If so, did you do it, how did it go? If not, why not?
New theme:
As you are on a path to create the best team, it’s really important to understand the collective vision of the team—what you want to be known for and how you can hold each other accountable to achieve that vision. Last time, we talked about exploring the environment with the art of listening. Now, we want to build on that by creating an environment where everyone feels safe to give and receive feedback, fostering accountability and ownership. As a leader, you set the tone. By showing vulnerability, asking for help, and admitting when you don't know the answer, you can help create a safe space for open communication to flow.
Below are a few questions to reflect on in your conversations:
- How and when do you give feedback to each other in the team?
- Is it always positive feedback or also feedback that helps everyone improve?
- What can you do as a leader of the team to help them feel safe to give you and each other feedback?
- What would you like the team to be known for when seen by other teams? Does your team have similar views?
